Father’s Day Recipes Dad’s will Love!

Father’s Day is right around the corner!!! Make his day really special by cooking him up some of these delicious recipes he is sure to love! Below are recipes for breakfast lunch and dinner, that are easy to make using ingredients you probably already have on hand!
Dad’s Wake up Call Breakfast Biscuits
What You Need:
- 2 1/3 C of boxed baking mix
- 1/2 C of milk
- 3 tbsp maple syrup
- 3 tbsp butter or margarine, melted
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. frozen sausage patties
- 3 slices of American cheese cut in half diagonally
How to Make It:
- Preset the oven temperature to 425 degrees allowing the oven to preheat.
- Place the baking mix into a mixing bowl.
- Pour the milk and maple syrup into the bowl.
- Add the butter and stir until the ingredients form soft but sticky dough.
- Sprinkle a flat work space with a small amount of flour.
- Roll the dough through the flour to lightly coat then form the dough into a ball.
- Sprinkle a little more flour if needed then knead the dough with your hands 10 times.
- Roll the dough to 1/2 inch thickness and cut out the biscuits with a 3 inch cookie cutter.
- Place the biscuit dough onto an ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake 12 minutes or until the biscuits turn a golden brown.
- Cook the sausage patties as directed on the package and drain well on paper towel.
- Cut the warm biscuits in half.
- Place a sausage patty and a piece of cut cheese onto each biscuit bottom.
- Cover with the top of each biscuit and maple syrup if you desire.
Makes 6 sandwiches
What better to wake up Dad on his day? Add a glass of juice, a cup of coffee and his morning paper for the perfect Father’s day start. Ham or bacon can also be used in this recipe.
Hearty Grilled Cheese Club Sandwich
What You Need:
- 12 slices sourdough bread
- 6 slices of cheddar cheese
- 1/2 lb. deli turkey, sliced thin
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 lb. deli ham, sliced thin
- 12 bacon slices, cooked and drained well
- 2 tbsp butter, room temperature
How to Make It:
- Place a piece of cheese and slices of turkey onto 6 pieces of bread.
- Sprinkle the turkey with the garlic powder.
- Layers ham slices and 2 pieces of bacon over the garlic powder.
- Place a slice of the bread over the top of the sandwich.
- Place a skillet over medium heat.
- Spread butter on the top of each sandwich and place the sandwich butter side down in the skillet.
- Spread the remaining butter onto the tops of each sandwich.
- Grill the sandwich 4 minutes or until the bottom slice of bread is browned.
- Flip and continue grilling an additional 4 minutes or until the sandwich is browned.
Makes 6 servings
Preparation Time: approximately 20 minutes
Cooking Time: approximately 8 minutes
Total Time: approximately 28 minutes
Bring Dad back to the good ole days with a grilled cheese sandwich for his Father’s Day lunch. This sandwich will not only remind him of his childhood days but will fill up his empty stomach as well. Be careful he may decide to have two.
Teriyaki Basted Broiled Steaks
What You Need:
- 6 (12 oz) New York Strip Steaks
- 1/2 C of teriyaki sauce
How to Make It:
- Set the oven to the broiler setting and let the broiler heat up.
- Brush the steaks on both sides with the teriyaki sauce.
- Place the steaks on the broiler pan.
- Broil 4 inches from the heat for 6 minutes.
- Turn the steaks and brush again with the sauce.
- Continue broiling 6 to 8 minutes or until the steaks reach desired doneness.
Makes 6 servings
Preparation Time: approximately 8 minutes
Broiling Time: approximately 12 to 14 minutes
Total Time: approximately 20 to 22 minutes
Doesn’t Dad always grill the steaks? Not on Father’s Day. These steaks will taste just as good as those steaks from the grill. Serve with a salad, stuffed potato and a sweet delicious dessert for the perfect evening meal.
